It seems like this novel occasionally gets a bad reputation because people had to read it in high school, but I really liked it. Have you read East of Eden? That's my favorite Steinbeck. I'm going to have to check out Travels with Charley, I've been hearing that one mentioned quite a lot on CBR blogs.
