Fashion efficiency?
by CarolineAfter reading The Postman (see previous post) and thinking on which items I’d include if I carried a single pack’s worth, exactly such a rumination fell into my lap from internetland: My friend Kelly and her husband Jeff are traveling to Italy soon. Kelly’s items fit into one carry-on suitcase and Jeff’s fit into a backpack.
And in case shoelaces are your bag, but especially if they’re not, here are 33 ways to lace them up, including bullet points on the advantages and disadvantages of each. Next time you see me I’ll be hypnotized by my own Star of David arrangement.

That’s cool, Caroline! I had a LiveJournal from around 2001 to 2007. I took a break for about a year because my romantic life, i.e. online dating, was becoming one humiliation after another, and I was tired of writing about it. Now I’m back!
Your blog is wonderful–no surprise there. I look forward to reading more!
Kelly: I have been blogging in one way or another since 1999, true story. Your packing was thrilling too. The combined weight and volume of your luggage is admirable and downright un-American.
Zach: Glad I could help, fattyfoot! I have the same problem on the rare instance I buy women’s shoes with laces.
ooooh.
shoelaces.
(of course I have ultra-wide feet and rarely shoe enough to fit them in, which means finding the right lacing strategy may actually increase my comfort a lot, so thank you for the link :P)
Hey, I didn’t realize you had a blog! Thanks for linking me, and expect an answer post to Jeff’s OCD packing strategies.
